OTHER CLASS OFFERINGS

CPR Class

A few times a year, our American Red Cross CPR instructor, Ronee Welch, teaches parents and other family members how to perform adult and pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED. You will learn how to know if/when someone needs you to perform CPR on them. You’ll learn how to do chest compressions and give breaths, as well as using the AED machine on both adults and children/infants.

You will also learn how to help someone if they’re choking. You’ll learn how to give abdominal thrusts and back blows to infants, children, and adults to help dislodge a item being choked on. This is a wonderful thing to learn for all ages, but especially helpful for nervous parents about to start offering solids to their infants! And you will also learn some of the basics of first aid - another useful tool for new parents!

This is a blended style of class, where you will take part of the class virtually through the Red Cross and then the other 2hrs will be taught in person, here at our facility. After the class, you will become certified for 2 years! You can learn more, see upcoming dates, and sign up through our CPR instructor’s (Ronee Welch) website by clicking below. If there aren’t any upcoming dates available, feel free to contact her at ronee@sleeptasticsolutions.com to be added to the next class offering.

Infant Massage Class

Learning how to massage your baby is one of the simplest, most enjoyable things you can do with your child! With this class, Ronee Welch (Cerified Infant Massage Educator) teaches parents and/or caregivers how to perform the massage on their baby or babies. The massage is meant to be initially performed on babies under 1 year old (or under 7 years old for children with special needs), though it is something you can and should do with your child for many years to come!

The strokes taught have been created by Vimala McClure, author of Infant Massage, A Handbook for Loving Parents. Vimala is the founder of the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM), with headquarters in Sweden. Besides learning the massage strokes and gentle yoga techniques, the participants will also receive printable handouts of all the strokes, as well as their own personal vial of edible massage oil to use on their baby.

SOME OF THE MANY BENEFITS OF INFANT MASSAGE INCLUDE:

  • Helps with infant and parent bonding / attachment

  • Relaxation for parent/baby

  • Helps parents learn about their baby’s needs and desires

  • Promotes better sleep

  • Facilitates body awareness and sensory stimulation

  • Boosts immune system, respiration, and blood circulation

  • Improves digestion and skin condition

  • Relief for gas and colic symptoms

  • Helps with waste elimination

  • Relief for teething pains

  • Stimulates production of Oxytocin (hormone produced during massage that is useful as a pain reliever, has a calming effect, reduce stress, and enhances the bonding process)

During this class we will cover daytime schedules, awake windows, dropping sleep props, bedtime routines, the 5 types of sleep training methods, how to do them, the ages they’re best for, and  more! By the end of this class, you will know enough to get started on your sleep journey ASAP!

This is a 60min in-person class (there will be a handout). Children are permitted so long as they can be quietly occupied (ie bring toys, snacks, etc).
